COVID-19 Virus Regulations

Outdoor Services begin Sunday, June 7th. We will continue to practice social distancing. Read notice

Council Update

In Governor Reynolds's proclamation (effective May 1, 2020), she stated, “Iowans may once again gather for spiritual or religious purposes, so long as churches…take reasonable measures to ensure social distancing of employees, volunteers and other participants, increased hygiene practices, and other public health measures to reduce the risk of further spread of COVID-19.” (See press release dated 4/47/2020.)

It is the desire of RACRC council to resume services as safely as reasonably possible. This will involve an incremental approach.

Phase I will involve meeting outside and begin Sunday, June 7th at 9:30. If the weather is unsuitable, there will be no outdoor services and an email notification will be sent. Throughout the time of this transition to once again meeting inside, the on-line services will continue to be made available.

Implementation details:

  • The outside service will be a shortened service with no greeting time, limited songs and no praise team.
  • We ask that you bring your own chair and maintain social distancing.
  • There will be no paper bulletins provided. If you desire an electronic bulletin, please utilize your smartphone or tablet.
  • Access to the church building will be limited. Following the service, you may enter the south door. For those who wish to give an offering, this can be done by placing      your gifts in a basket just as you enter the building. You may proceed to pick up your mail, view the remodeled sanctuary and exit through the north door. Council members will provide support and direction and no more than 10 people will be allowed into the building at a time. Only the handicapped bathroom will be available at this time.
  • No nursery will be provided, and young people will need to remain with their parent/guardian for the children’s sermon.
  • During Phase I, we will not be serving communion and there will be no coffee or refreshments served.
  • We ask that you maintain social distancing standards throughout the time at church (no physical contact, handshakes, hugs, etc.) Face masks are optional for those who wish to use them but are not required.

Our goal is to resume worshiping together while staying safe, keeping others safe and respecting the varied points of view people have regarding current risk factors.

If you are feeling unwell or someone you live with is unwell, for the sake of others please do not come to a worship service. In addition, high risk individuals (people over 60 and those with underlying health conditions) are encouraged to continue to shelter in place and limit their times away from home.

We look forward to worshiping together again soon!
