August 20, 2020 – Update from the Council
At our last council meeting (August 18th), we discussed the current situation regarding indoor services on rainy Sunday’s. In anticipation of smaller numbers, we initially decided not to require masks, but to ask people to observe social distancing. However, with the greater number of participants who chose to worship indoors, the difficulty social distancing, and in preparation for the time when we will eventually migrate indoors for all services, it was decided to now require masks for the congregation during indoor services.
We understand that wearing masks is not only inconvenient, but also a continual reminder of the sadness and frustration we all carry with us during this pandemic. That being said, we believe it is the right decision to require masks out of love and care for others. Included in this communication is an article entitled “4 Reasons to Wear a Mask, Even if You Hate It,” that presents the Biblical perspectives on which our decision is based.
Thank you for your understanding and support during these difficult times and for your kindness and care for each other.
June 24, 2020 – Update from the Council
Outdoor services will continue until further notice, if weather conditions do not permit an outdoor service, there will be a service held indoors. This service will be uploaded and available through the church’s website beginning at noon. No one should feel obligated to attend, if this would be contrary to their personal sense of what is appropriate or safe for them. Those who are uncomfortable with meeting inside can access the website service beginning at noon, just as they would have, if services had been cancelled.
If services are going to be held inside, an email will be sent out. If you do not have access to email, please contact your district elder or deacon.
Our goal is to resume worshiping together while staying safe, keeping others safe and respecting the varied points of view people have regarding current risk factors.
If you are feeling unwell or someone you live with is unwell, for the sake of others please do not come to a worship service. In addition, high risk individuals (people over 60 and those with underlying health conditions) are encouraged to continue to shelter in place and limit their times away from home.
We look forward to worshiping together again soon!
Services to our members are available and accessible through their website
You can still ask for prayer requests by email or phone.
firstname.lastname@example.org or 641-424-1369
Emails for the requests will then be forwarded to our members.
Rolling Acres is a community of the Christian Reformed Church in North America. We are a community that exists to extend the grace and truth of Jesus Christ to all. We do these things as a family that supports, encourages, and engages one another. Behind the programs, committees and church government is the deep passion for communicating God’s love for all people. We invite you to come and see what God is doing here!
Our vision is to reach out into the diverse North Iowa community to expand and nurture the family of God as a welcoming and caring fellowship of believers. We will be a light to draw people to Christ through agape love and friendship evangelism, as they join us in a community centered on Christ and taught through God's Word, the Bible.
As disciples of Jesus Christ, RACRC's mission is to glorify God by equipping and building one another up, proclaiming the gospel to all and making disciples. We do this through the grace of the Holy Spirit in a joyful fellowship of love, encouragement and unity.
