Overview

Rolling Acres Christian Reformed Church is seeking a trustworthy, detail-oriented Part-Time Church Treasurer to manage our financial operations. In this role, you will oversee the church's financial health, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide accurate financial reporting to the church leadership and congregation. This position requires high integrity, excellent organizational skills, and a heart for supporting our church’s mission.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Financial Management: Maintain accurate records of all church financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.

· Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the church board and business meetings.

· Budgeting: Assist the leadership team in developing, monitoring, and managing the annual church budget.

· Banking & Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and manage church bank accounts.

· Compliance: Ensure timely filing of payroll taxes, annual non-profit reports, and compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws.

Qualifications and Skills

· Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial management (experience with non-profit or house of worship accounting is highly preferred).

· Software Proficiency: Strong skills in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Aplos, or specialized church management software) and Microsoft Excel.

· Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and strict adherence to financial confidentiality.

· Alignment: A respectful understanding of and alignment with the church’s values, mission, and community.

Schedule

· Flexible schedule (with the ability to meet specific monthly deadlines)

· Mostly remote capability, with occasional on-site hours required for meetings or picking up financial documents.
