Music Director Position
- Qualifications:
- A mature Christian faith, evidenced in a genuine commitment to Christ & His Church. Strong organizational skills, ability to take initiative & plan ahead. A confident & positive attitude. Commitment to the church’s vision, leadership & people. A significant understanding of worship & music in order to supervise & direct the ministry of the church in these areas. Familiar with & supportive of all worship styles & acquainted with a wide body of music & worship literature. Experience with the technical aspects of a contemporary service.
- Responsibility Summary:
- Organize weekly song sets. Provide key charts & words to team members. Make a monthly schedule of which members will participate. Lead practice times & Sunday morning musical elements. Participate in Sunday morning worship. Be able to effectively lead worship on guitar or keyboard or vocal or a combination thereof in a contemporary fashion. Work closely with the Pastor for order/flow of worship. Objectively evaluate the reception of new music presented to the congregation. Represent the church in a positive manner & be supportive & helpful to all members and staff. Oversee the administrative duties of the worship & music ministry, working closely with the pastor, the worship committee, and others involved in the music ministry. Demonstrate a commitment to our church’s vision & blended style of worship.
- Hours Per Week: 12 to 13 hours
- Days: Somewhat flexible
- Pay Range: Commensurate with experience
